Introduction
Snap Pro is a browser extension that helps users capture high-quality screenshots from authenticated websites while respecting user privacy. This policy explains what data Snap Pro does and does not access, and exactly how each requested browser permission is used.
Information We Collect
Snap Pro does not access, collect, store, or transmit any of the following, at any time:
- Personal information
- Login credentials
- Browsing history
- Screenshots
- Website content
Local Processing
All screenshots are generated locally, entirely inside your browser.
No captured images are uploaded to Snap Pro servers, because Snap Pro does not operate any servers that receive or store your data.
Permissions
Snap Pro follows the principle of least privilege and requests only the permissions required for it to function. Here is exactly why each one is needed:
- activeTab — Grants temporary access to the single tab you are viewing, and only after you click the extension icon. Snap Pro cannot see or access any other open tabs.
- scripting — Injects the on-page capture overlay that lets you select an element or region to capture. This script runs only for the duration of the capture and does not persist or execute in the background.
- downloads — Used solely to save your captured screenshot as a file to your device when you choose to download it.
- storage — Used only to remember local preferences, such as your preferred export format, on your own device. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
Data Sharing
Snap Pro does not sell, rent, share, or transfer any user data to third parties, under any circumstances.
Security
Snap Pro does not operate backend servers for processing screenshots. All processing happens entirely within your browser, unless a future cloud feature is introduced — and even then, only after that feature is clearly disclosed and you have given explicit consent.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in functionality or legal requirements. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
